Hello Parents;

The highlights of this past week ranges from 10 of our high school girls attending a conference in Calgary on Tuesday to the dress up day on Thursday and the boat races held at SAIT on Thursday.

On this past Tuesday there was a student of conference held at the Saddledome for over 17,000 students. The WE conference is designed to encourage young people to become active in their communities through volunteering or developing their own programs that would benefit community member. Chrissie Nauta and Marlyn Brunning accompanied the girls to the event.

Our dress-up event was Scare crow day where students were encouraged to dress up in their best scare crow costumes. The winners are as follows: Kindergarten - Violet Doerksen

                                  Grade 1-2 - Charlie Third

                                  Grade 3/4 - Georgia Third

                                  Grade 5/6 - Chance Bruinsma

                                  Grade 7/8 - Mr. Doerksen

The overall winner was Charlie Third. Thank you to all students who dressed up for this special day and for the parents who worked hard to get a costume ready for their children.

Also on Thursday, Mr. Kroeker took several of our jr./sr. high students to Calgary to compete in a boat race. Once there, students had to construct a boat made from cardboard and race it across the swimming pool. Our best finish was a second place. The names of the participants and their final placements will be posted next week.
