Sports Day, Friday, May 24th We are looking forward to another fun and energetic day with our students and parents! For those new to Brant, Sports day is filled with fun sports activities such as sack races, long jump, balloon toss, egg relay, basketball, obstacle course, and some new events created by Mrs. Bennik's amazing leadership class! It is a regular school day so students are expected to attend as normal. We run the events with parent and senior high volunteers. We have a fun day in most weather conditions!
Golf Tournament Fundraiser Just a reminder that our annual golf tournament fundraiser will take place at Nanton Golf Course on Saturday, June 8. There will be prizes, crazy costumes and most importantly fun had by all. The registration deadline is May 30th so sign up using the link below while there are still spots available. You can register as an individual or enter a team of up to four players. As well, using the form in the link, you can contribute as a private or corporate sponsor, or if you prefer not to golf, you can make a donation. Track and Field Exploits! Miss Cook and Mrs. Goodfellow took a contingent of our junior and senior high schoolers to the division track and field meets over the past week. Our athletes indeed went higher, faster, stronger with many of our students finishing in the top 2, and thus, qualifying for zone competition. Super job Eagles!
Rugby Our rugby season with the joint team of Highwood High and Brant Christian will wrap up tonight with the girls playing West Island College at Calgary Rugby Union at 6:30 pm. It was another successful season with both our boys and girls’ teams narrowly missing out on qualifying for the provincial championships. We want to especially thank the head coach Mr. Dave Roberts (principal at Highwood High) for all the hard work he put into coaching and organizing so our Brant student-athletes could enjoy a great season!
Little Britches Parade A big thank you goes out to all those who joined the Brant float to show High River what a great little school we have. Special thanks to Mrs. Niemans who got everyone organized and equipped with candy to pass out.
Stop Human Trafficking The grade 10 students will again be putting on a fundraiser to raise awareness and funds to stop human trafficking this Wednesday. This week’s treats are baked goods ranging from $1 - $5 with all proceeds going to International Justice Mission (IJM). IJM is a Christian organization dedicated to preventing human trafficking and freeing victims that are caught in this horrific trade.
Band Spring Concert As many of you have likely heard from your students, our Spring Concert is coming up on May 30 @ 7pm at the High River Baptist Church . We are very excited to have our Grade 5-6 Band, Grade 7-12 Band, Grade 7-12 Choir and our BCS String Ensemble performing, as well as our Grade K-4 music programs. All the students have been hard at work making great music and we look forward to sharing it with you! Looking forward to seeing you all!
***Registration for 2024-25*** At this point, there is limited space available for the 2024-25 school year. Please encourage any families who are interested in joining BCS to contact the school, to inquire about the availability of space for next year so they can join our waiting list . Sometimes family plans change and parents may leave Brant from now until September 2024. Families leaving allow families on the waiting list to fill a spot that may have opened up.
Hot Lunch Hot lunches take place every Thursday. Hot lunches rotate between hot dogs, taco in a bag, pizza, hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Orders have opened for June. Please go to www.schoolcashonline.com to order.
