Exams begin

Hello Parents;

Now that our sports have wrapped up and most of the field trips are over, this week is looking kind of slow. For our students in grades 6, 9  and 12 their final provincial exams are coming up. The grade 6 and 9's will be writing their provincial achievement tests while our grade 12 students will be writing diploma exams. For grade 6, they will be writing tests in Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies over the next two weeks. Our grade 9 students have Math and Social Studies to write.

On Wednesday of last week our students in grade 1-4 participated in a track meet in Vulcan. Judging by the number of ribbons I saw students wearing, I would say that we did very well and were well represented. On Thursday our students in grades 5 - 12 took part in a softball tournament in Barons and came back to school quite excited about the day they had. Congratulations to all our students.

This coming Saturday, June 18, our little school house will be entered in the Okotoks Parade. We will have students walking the parade route giving out candy. We are always looking for younger students to ride inside our float. If you have a son/daughter between the ages of 4 and 8 and would like them to ride in the float, please let me know. We will also need an adult or two to supervise inside the float. If you plan to be in attendance at the parade, please look for our float and give us a shout as we pass by.

We have more families coming by the school this week to check out Brant. More people are becoming aware as to who we are and are interested in Christian education. Please continue to  tell your friends about Brant Christian and encourage them to come by for a visit.

Our last field trip for the year is next Monday when all of our students, K - 12 will be going to Southern Alberta Bible Camp. We will be leaving from Brant and returning in time for all students to catch their bus ride home. If you have time off that day and are able to join us, please come along.

On Tuesday, June 21 Corbin Knight, a professional hockey player will be our guest speaker for our assembly. He will be talking to our students and staff about his faith and what it is like in the NHL. Parents are welcome to join us. Assemblies start at 8:30.

The last day of school will be June 28. This is the day that students pack up their belongings and report cards are given out and students are promoted to their next grade. Last year we had a parent-child egg toss. This year we have changed the contest to a balloon toss. We encourage all parents to come out that day and join us in the water balloon toss, celebrate your child's academic success and join us for a bbq lunch.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
