Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all of our amazing moms! Blessings to each of you.

Camp Little Red
From all reports, this year’s grade 7-8 trip to Camp Little Red was a great success! A big thank you goes out to Miss Cook who organized the trip and to our adult chaperones, Coby Farrelly, and pastor Dave.

Highway Clean-Up Volunteering
A big thanks to everyone who helped out in the Highway Clean-Up this past Saturday. We had a great turnout which meant we got the job done quickly and left the ditches in pristine condition. We even raised over $100 toward the Mexican Mission Trip 2025 from the cans and bottles we gathered up during the day!

Little Britches Parade, Saturday, May 18th
Would you like to take part in the Little Britches Parade on Saturday, May 18, 2024? We have a few spots available for the younger kids to ride in the Brant Christian School float, and we are also looking for individuals to walk along and hand out candy to the crowd. PLEASE NOTE, For those interested in participating in the parade on foot, please be aware that the route spans a few kilometers. Therefore, it's recommended that walkers are able to complete the entire route, as arranging mid-way pickups could prove difficult. We'll be meeting at approx. 9:30 am, location still TBD. Dress for the weather, and don't forget to wear comfortable shoes. See you all on May 18! For questions, contact Catherine Massey at catherine.massey@pallisersd.ab.ca. Open the volunteer link below for both parents and student: https://volunteersignup.org/QHXYX

Sports Day, Friday, May 24th
We are looking forward to another fun and energetic day with our students and parents! For those new to Brant, Sports day is filled with fun sports activities such as sack races, long jump, balloon toss, egg relay, basketball, obstacle course, and maybe some new events created by Mrs. Bennik's amazing leadership class! It is a regular school day so students are expected to attend as normal. We run the events with Parent and Senior High volunteers. We have a fun day in most weather conditions! Volunteers need to arrive prior to 8:45 am for instructions and event designation. If you will be helping for the day, please bring a lunch. Team organization will be in the gym at 9:00 am. Events will begin at 9:15 am. Popcorn and juice will be provided during group snack stop/rest time. Please bring/send hats, sunscreen (or an umbrella), lunch and water for yourself (if volunteering) and students! This is a regular school day so we are expecting students to be in attendance. If your child cannot participate in events, please contact the school office. Thank you! Please call the school office if you have any questions. Thank you. See the link below for parent volunteers to run events: volunteersignup.org/LBRFL

Mexico Mission Trip 2025
We are very excited to announce the upcoming BCS 2025 Missions Trip to Mexico where we will be teaming up with the esteemed Foundations for His Ministry (FFHM).There will be an information meeting on May 21, 2024 @ 7pm to be held at High River Alliance Church. We encourage both the student(s) and their parents to attend this meeting. For more information, please refer to the email that came out last week.

Ride Sharing Communication
We are asking that if students wish to give another student a ride home who normally does not ride with them, that these students get parent permission beforehand by having parents communicate with Mrs. Massey by phone or by email. Also, we have reminded students, but would also like to remind parents that students are not permitted to ride with fellow students directly from Brant to sporting events (e.g. practices, games) unless that is part of the normal daily arrangement.

Stop Human Trafficking
The grade 10 students will again be putting on a fundraiser to raise awareness and funds to stop human trafficking this Wednesday. This week’s treats are goods ranging from $1 - $5 with all proceeds going to International Justice Mission (IJM). IJM is a Christian organization dedicated to preventing human trafficking and freeing victims that are caught in this horrific trade.

In Search of Plants
We are looking for a couple of 5-6' tall palm-like artificial plants for our newly renovated high school portable located off the office. We would love to have a smaller artificial plant similar to a yucca plant as well. If you might have a plant you would be interested in donating, please let us know. If you might have a plant you would be interested in donating, please let us know.

***Registration for 2024-25***
At this point, there is limited space available for the 2024-25 school year. Please encourage any families who are interested in joining BCS to contact the school, to inquire about the availability of space for next year so they can join our waiting list . Sometimes family plans change and parents may leave Brant from now until September 2024. Families leaving allow families on the waiting list to fill a spot that may have opened up.

Hot Lunch
Hot lunches take place every Thursday. Hot lunches rotate between hot dogs, taco in a bag, pizza, hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Orders for May are now closed.

Prayer
A message from the Prayer Team : At Brant Christian School, we covet the prayers of our parents on behalf of our students, teachers and staff! We would like to encourage parents who normally drive their students to and from school to take a few minutes, either at drop off or pick up, to walk the perimeter of the school yard praying. There is something powerful about "boots on the ground prayer!" We totally understand the challenge of schedule constraints, but perhaps this might be a simple (and powerful!) way to effectively use that time while you are waiting for your children. Thank you! Also, if you are willing to meet for a scheduled time of prayer, please reach out to Helga Lempriere @ prayer@brantchristian.org.

FlipGive
In case you hadn't heard, Brant has joined with FlipGive , a free team funding app. We are requesting for our families to join and support our school. You will be supporting Brant with the ongoing school improvement projects. Brant's Flipgive team is not limited to Brant families, but open to friends and extended family. If you haven't already, join our team by clicking the link or entering the code H9J97Z at flipgive.com. Brant will get a $5 bonus the first time you shop! Any questions, just ask! fundraising@brantchristian.org

Feel free to reach out to me should you have any ideas or concerns, or just want to chat.
