Spring Concert Success

There is lots going on at BCS these days, so please read to the end.

Spring Concert
We want to thank all the people involved to make this year’s spring concert such a success. Special thanks goes out to Mr. Tim Korthuis, Mrs. Rachel Nauta and Mrs. Karen Dees for preparing and inspiring our young musicians to produce such a wonderful evening of music.

Sports Day
What a great day we had last Friday at Sports Day! It was so much fun working together to meet the challenges of all the various stations throughout the day. A great big thanks goes out to Mrs. Bennik and her leadership class for organizing the day, to Mrs. Anderson’s dynamic MCing and to the army of parent volunteers who made the day run so smoothly.

Track and Field
This year's Elementary Track and Field takes place at Vulcan Prairieview School on Wednesday, June 5. Please ensure that your child has submitted their participation form if they are a participant or if they are a PE 20/30 student volunteer who is helping out at the meet by Monday, June 3. The bussing schedule will not be affected as buses will be leaving from Brant at 8:30 and returning to Brant before the end of the school day. Higher, faster, stronger young Eagles! Our junior high track and field competitors who qualified for zones will be competing in the South Zone Championships in Lethbridge this Tuesday, June 4th. As for our senior highs, we want to congratulate Reuben Leblanc and Jacob Heumann for their fine performances at the South Zone Track and Field Championships this past Thursday. A special thanks to Mrs. Goodfellow for her great coaching this track season!

Grad Chapel
Just a reminder that the annual “Grad Chapel” will take place beginning at 2:00 pm this Monday, June 3. This is a chance for students (K-11) to honour Brant’s Grade 12 Graduating Class of 2024. If you are a relative or friend of any of our graduates, please feel free to attend.

Staffing Announcements
Grade 1-2
Mrs. Suzanne Larsen-Wall will be taking a year away from the classroom to pursue her master’s in counselling. While we wish Mrs L well in her studies, and we will certainly all miss her greatly, we are blessed to have one of our own, Brittany Riddle, coming in to teach the 1-2s for the upcoming school year. Brittany and her husband Johnny have been part of the Brant family for a number of years. We are blessed to welcome Brittany and have full confidence in her abilities as a highly-skilled teacher who has built strong relationships with both staff and students over the past few years in her role as a substitute teacher. May God bless you Mrs. Larsen-Wall in your studies and congratulations to Mrs. Riddle as she joins the Brant family, full time!

Elementary/Junior High
It is with mixed emotions that we announce that Miss Madison Cook accepted a teaching position at the National Sports Academy. While we are happy she will be able to transmit her love of learning to a whole new group of students, we will miss her greatly at Brant. In the very short time that Miss Cook has been at Brant, she has made a lasting positive impact on both staff and students. Her infectious joy, love for students and desire to create interesting and meaningful learning experiences will leave us with so many cherished memories. Miss Cook, May God continue to work through to bless your new students.

Golf Tournament Fundraiser
Just a reminder that our annual golf tournament fundraiser will take place at Nanton Golf Course on Saturday, June 8. There will be prizes, crazy costumes and most importantly fun had by all. Let us know if there's any other information you need from us…. FORE!!!

Rugby Banquet
Our rugby season with the joint team of Highwood High and Brant Christian wrapped up last week with a convincing victory of our girls’ team over West Island College. A reminder to players that there will be an awards banquet on Thursday, June 6. Doors will open at 6 pm with tickets being $10 each. If you haven’t already purchased tickets through Highwood High School, you can pay Mr. Chisholm for your tickets.

***Registration for 2024-25***
At this point, there is limited space available for the 2024-25 school year. Please encourage any families who are interested in joining BCS to contact the school, to inquire about the availability of space for next year so they can join our waiting list. Sometimes family plans change and parents may leave Brant from now until September 2024. Families leaving allow families on the waiting list to fill a spot that may have opened up.

Hot Lunch
Hot lunches take place every Thursday. Hot lunches rotate between hot dogs, taco in a bag, pizza, hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches. Deadline to order for June is Monday. Please go to www.schoolcashonline.com to order.

Write-On Bulletin Board
Our grad class is currently featured on the Write-On Bulletin Board.  Come check it out!

Feel free to reach out to me should you have any ideas or concerns, or just want to chat.
Mr. Shain Chisholm, Principal
