Upcoming School Christmas Festivities

Happy Season of Advent!!!
There is a ton of stuff going on over the next two weeks, so please read everything carefully so you don’t miss out! Thank you:)

Brant Christmas Production
We are excited to announce this year's Christmas production, "Away in a Mango"! Join the passengers and crew of the SS Mango as their shopping excursion turns perilous after a sudden storm leaves them stranded on a deserted island! Will they be found in time for the ship’s big Christmas Concert? Come and find out! Please invite your friends and family to join us for an evening of music and worship as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour! Our worship teams will be leading us in some Christmas singing followed by our play starring the K-6 students! The show begins at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 12th (that’s tonight!) at Brant Christian School.

High School Christmas Formal Banquet
Next Thursday, December 19 is the annual High School Christmas Banquet (grades 10-12) which will take place at the High River Alliance Church. Please wear your fanciest apparel as the dress code is formal. Entrance fee is $15 per person and will be collected at the door. Doors open at 6:00 pm and will go to approximately 9:30 pm.

Christmas Fair
Brant’s Grade 10 Entrepreneurship class will be putting on a fair complete with games, prizes, food and fun. Students are encouraged to bring between $5 - 10 if they want to participate in the games and to partake of the food offerings. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of a Cricut machine for the school. Activities include face painting, a photo booth, live music, a hot chocolate stand and a bake sale. Come and have the time of your life!

Skating at Brant
Our good friends at Vulcan County have blessed us with another two truck loads of water for our ice rink this past week. We are hoping that the ice is ready for the week before Christmas. We are asking students to bring skates and a helmet and clothes that are warm enough for a 45 minute PE class on our outdoor rink. If you have grown out of your skates, could you please be generous in carrying on the Brant tradition of donating your skates and helmets that no longer fit to our PE department.

School Registration
It is that time again! Registration for all Brant families opens on December 1st- December 15th. The earlier registration dates are due to the Palliser School Division requesting our 2025-26 numbers by January 1st. The number of registered students affects funding and teacher staffing. Please support our efforts to give the Palliser School Division the best information possible by registering between December 1-15th. The Board will require that all Alternative Program Fee (APF) accounts be up to date before your student’s place in the grade is secured as of December 15th, 2024. There is a waiting list of families that wish to become a part of the Brant Christian family, so please be sure to confirm your accounts are in order. A $100 deposit/ family will be due as well to confirm your student’s spot in the grade you are registering.

Couple of details remember:
All APF’s ($1260/ student) are due by June 30th, 2025
If your family is need of financial support for the upcoming year please reach out to treasurer@brantchristian.org

Coach Bartel's Volleyball Bootcamp
Boys, do you want to impress the ladies with your awe-inspiring volleyball skills while striking fear into the hearts of your opponents? Girls, do you want to gracefully and elegantly CRUSH your opponent? If you answered 'yes' to any of those questions, then Coach Bartel has great news to you! Over the Christmas break he will be running a volleyball bootcamp to help take your volleyball skills to the next level. You are going to be pushed, you are going to be sore, you are going to sweat... and you're going to love every minute of it! If you answered 'no' to any of those questions and you prefer to ACTUALLY physically strike your opponent, you should consider a real sport like rugby (but that begins in the spring.)

Give Back to Sport opportunity: Senior Highs! If you are looking for an easy and fun way to earn some more of your “Give Back to Sport” hours, we will need some senior high boys and girls to come and assist with some of the younger groups throughout these days. If you are already planning on attending the boot camp later in the afternoon, it would be super helpful and easy for you to come along and help Coach Bartel out for the day. If this is something you might be interested in, come chat with Mrs. Campbell at school, or send her an email at jamie.campbell@pallisersd.ab.ca.

How do I sign up for Coach Bartel’s Volleyball Bootcamp? Please fill out this Google Form (one per child), to let Coach Bartel and Mrs. Campbell know who will be in attendance by Friday, December 20th.
