Year-End Wrap-up

A wonderful weekend to all our Brant families! As you will see, this is will not my typical weekly wrap up, but more of a year end wrap up. I can hardly believe that we have arrived so quickly at the end of the year! I am very much looking forward to seeing so many of you Tuesday, June 28th at the High River Baptist Church for our wrap up time to the year. It will be good to be together as a community one last time to celebrate the end of school as we hand out report cards inside, and do some fun activities outside afterwards. Not to mention the burgers and hot dogs!

As this is the end of the year, there are not too many reminders for this week. High school students please make sure all textbooks are returned to the school by Monday. If you have any fines outstanding to the library, please make sure you send those in on Monday. Also, since the weather ruined the water fight this week, we will hold the re-match on Monday afternoon. Be sure to bring all of your supplies to be ready to have a great time!

With the unprecedented growth in our student population, we have had the opportunity to add some teachers to our staff next fall. Ms. Jamie Nudd will join us in the 5/6 classroom, as the maternity leave for Ms. Goodfellow starts before the school year. Ms. Nudd is a native of Okotoks, deeply involved in her church and comes highly recommended as a teacher. We are thrilled to have her step into this position and see how God works through her at Brant. Additionally, we have Mr. Richard Mallach rejoining our staff, both as a CTS (Shop) and classroom teacher. This means we have the CTS trailers coming back to our property for the year, and he will be doing work with all our grades from 3 up, teaching them about various levels of wood working in the shop. We are very excited to have this expansion of offerings for our students and know the CTS trailers will be well used next year. We are still in the process of hiring for the remaining half time position, who will be working with our junior high students. This staff member will allow us to split the 7s and 8s into their own classrooms, which means we have individual homerooms for grades 7 through 12 next year.

All this to say, with approximately 180 students, 3 new staff members and an expanded program offering, Brant will have a slightly new look for the fall. It is amazing to consider that God has led so many new families to Brant who will now join us and experience all the blessings of this school. And I know that I speak for the entire staff when I say, it is a privilege and honor to serve the community of Brant Christian School.

As I close this last message, I would like to pray a blessing on each of you for this summer, whatever paths the Lord takes your family upon, may the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon and give you His peace. Amen.

Quinn Barreth, Principal
