Class of 2025 Bottle Drive

Weekly Update October 18, 2024
Hello Brant Parents,
With all the leaves falling off the trees, we should all take time this weekend to do something fun like taking a flying leap into a giant pile of leaves. There is a lot of important announcements, so please read right to the end.

Bring Rakes
For anyone coming to the school before 2:00 pm, we can still use rakes for today’s community cleanup (Friday, October 18) to help rake up the leaves as we seek to bless the folks of Brant this afternoon.

AFTER SCHOOL PICK UP
For safety reasons, we would like to ask parents who pick up young children after school, to please refrain from driving into the parking lot while students are making their way to their buses.

Business Class Bake Sale
Our Grade 10 Entrepreneurial Foundations class put on a bake sale today (Friday, Oct. 18). The offerings were all original and may I say, delicious! Given how yummy the sweets were, there may be a few future bakers among our Grade 10s.

The Great Grad Brant Bottle Drive
This year’s grad class “Class of 2025” is organizing some fundraisers and one of the major fundraisers will be a bottle drive. Brant Christian Grad has been added as an account at both the Okotoks and High River Bottle Depots. So when you drop off your bottles, just ask them to put the funds under Brant Christian and you will be supporting the grad “Class of 2025”! Thanks so much:)

Apple Fundraiser
Hello Apple Families! Thank you again for participating in the Apple Fundraiser.
Apple Pick Up:
Wed Oct 23 between 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm High River Baptist Church Parking Lot
The apples need to be picked up by the Brant Family associated with the order and they are responsible for delivering to those that ordered from them. We are so thankful for the success of the fundraiser. We raised approximately $1900!

Volleyball Update
In the big news this week, our Senior Boys team won the Nobleford tournament with an overpowering performance. In the same tourney, our Senior Girls took third place.
The girls triple ball team played their first league game and came away victorious, soaring to victory over Westmount. The Junior A boys and girls played well, but fell to very strong Okotoks Junior teams. Both teams head off to Strathmore for a weekend tournament.

Brant Auction
Auction Donations will need to be delivered to the school office first thing Monday morning (Oct. 21st) to enable our auction committee to do their thing, all in preparation for our annual fundraising event which you just don’t want to miss! So, have you purchased your auction ticket yet!?!. Don’t miss out - ticket cut off is Friday, Oct. 25th.
Go here to purchase your tickets. This year’s theme is Mexican Fiesta, so dress up and come out for an evening of fun, fiesta and fundraising.
Need a donation form? Please find a copy here.

Student Volunteers at the Auction
Grade 12s are asked to volunteer at the event if possible (slots not covered will be filled with grade 11s!)
Expectations-Sunday best attire! Or black bottoms/white top to look official
Meet at the Highwood Centre Nov 2nd 4:30-8:30 pm
Pizza provided 5:00
Sign up sheet for the event will be sent around starting next week!
Grade 7-11s
Last week at school, a signup sheet posted, asking students in these grades to consider volunteering in pairs to babysit during the auction. This is an opportunity to serve the parents of the younger students by helping offset babysitting costs over while allowing them to attend and spend more money at the auction.
Once pairs are formed, the committee will put out to the Brant Christian community this gift of service. Babysitters will then be paired with families (hopefully in their area).
When: Nov 2. 4/4:30-9:30/10 approx. (depending on location of house serving at).
Transportation: It would be up to each family requesting a babysitter to arrange transportation to and from their house.
For all grades 7-12, please consider serving in this way. Parents, we would love for you to encourage your teens in this opportunity. Please have your teens sign up as soon as possible to help in the planning and allocation of volunteers for our amazing auction fundraiser evening!
Thank you for your consideration.

Brant School Community Buy and Sell
We now have a private Buy and Sell page on Facebook, just for the BCS community! Search “Brant Christian School Community Buy & Sell” and request to join. Feel free to then invite other BCS families to the group.
Just remember: No small business posts please! (If you have any questions, please reach out to our Parent Engagement Group)

Hot Lunch
November hot lunch orders have opened today, however families whose last names begin with N to Z are unable to access their accounts at www.schoolcashonline.com at this time. Our team is working to get the system up and running for next week. Thank you for your patience.
