Student Volunteers needed at the Auction!

Brant Society Board Meetings
As always, parents are invited to attend Brant Society Board meetings that take place every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the High River Alliance. Should you want to come see what all the wonderful things the board is doing to continue to further the Brant Christian School mission, the next meeting is Tuesday, November 12. If you (parents), as society members, have not received an email from the Brant Christian Society Board to please email the board chair.

Student Volunteers at the Auction
Grade 12s are asked to volunteer at the event if possible (slots not covered will be filled with grade 11s!)
Expectations-
Sunday best attire! Or black bottoms/white top to look official
Meet at the Highwood Centre Nov 2nd 4:30-8:30 pm
Pizza provided 5:00
Sign up sheet for the event will be sent around starting next week!

Grade 7-11s
Last week at school, a signup sheet posted, asking students in these grades to consider volunteering in pairs to babysit during the auction. This is an opportunity to serve the parents of the younger students by helping offset babysitting costs over while allowing them to attend and spend more money at the auction. Once pairs are formed, the committee will put out to the Brant Christian community this gift of service. Babysitters will then be paired with families (hopefully in their area). When: Nov 2.
4/4:30-9:30/10 approx. (depending on location of house serving at).
Transportation: It would be up to each family requesting a babysitter to arrange transportation to and from their house.
For all grades 7-12, please consider serving in this way. Parents, we would love for you to encourage your teens in this opportunity. Please have your teens sign up as soon as possible to help in the planning and allocation of volunteers for our amazing auction fundraiser evening! Thank you for your consideration.

Apple Fundraiser
We want to thank everyone who participated in this year’s Apple Fundraiser. Our students sold 231 boxes of apples this year which is 44 more boxes than last year. Awesome!
● The grade 1/2 class wins the pizza party with 46 boxes sold (ratio of boxes/student is 2.42)
Karter Friesen wins the $50.00 Brant Swag Credit with the highest apple sales of 26 boxes
● The profit total for Brant is $1880.53 and the proceeds will go toward our ongoing/needed building projects.

We now have a private Buy and Sell page on Facebook, just for the BCS community! Search “Brant Christian School Community Buy & Sell” and request to join. Here you can post personal items for sale, post what you’re looking for or pick up the perfect second-hand treasure from another person in the BCS community. Feel free to then invite other BCS families to the group. Just remember: No small business posts please! (If you have any questions, please reach out to our Parent Engagement Group)

Hot Lunch
Hot lunch orders for October are closed. November orders will open up on October 18th, deadline to order for November will be October 31st.

Volleyball Update
In league play, our senior boys had a strong showing but came up short against Strathcona Tweedsmuir. They look for an improved showing against their rivals from Holy Trinity. This week the senior girls lost against County Central, but look to bounce back in the Nobleford tournament this weekend. Unfortunately, the JV boys faced Foothills Composite and despite a valiant effort fell to the Falcons. Junior A boys were not in action while the Junior A girls showed great improvement in last weekend’s tournament in Three Hills. In this week’s big event, the girls triple ball is playing their season’s first game against Westmount. The Triple Ball Eagles are primed to soar to victory. Guaranteed! Go Eagles Go!

Flipgive
FlipGive is an app that you can use to raise money for Brant Christian without spending extra money or with extra hassle. All you do is download the app and scan the app for each purchase you make at a participating vendor. The vendors reimburse FlipGive a portion of the purchase amount; Flipgive takes a small percentage of that and then passes the rest of that reimbursement to Brant Christian School. It is easy and, best of all, there is no extra money coming out of your pocket! If you have any questions or need help, reach out to our Fundraising Committee.

Write-On Bulletin Board
Parents, want to brag on/encourage your kids? We have a way to do that! We have a "Write On" bulletin board at school in the main hallway where our student's achievements can be posted and celebrated! Simply send a note with an article or photo to Cathy Massey, who will print it and post it on the board. Simple as that!

Feel free to reach out to me should you have any ideas or concerns, or just want to chat.

Mr. Shain Chisholm, Principal
