Welcome Back

Hello Parents;

I trust that the Easter break was an enjoyable time for your children and yourself. This will be a busy week at school. I would like to start off by congratulating the cast and crew of the play, "Mystery at Shady Acres." I thought they did a fantastic job. It was a very enjoyable evening. Thank you to everyone who came out. Our gym was packed. It was exciting to see so many people in attendance. Thank you to Miss Wolfe who put so much time into this spring's performance.

On Wednesday, 8 of our high school students are off to Coaldale for the zone tournament in badminton. We wish them well as they compete to move on to the provincial tournament in early May. For students in grades 5 - 12, we will be leaving school just before noon on Wednesday and travelling to Glenmore Christian Academy to watch their school play of "Annie." On the way home we will be dropping off Okotoks students in the Home Depot parking lot and High River students will be let off at the Full Gospel Church. We should be in Okotoks around 3:30 - 3:45 and in High River around 4:00 PM.

On Wednesday evening we will be showing the video, "Screenagers" at the baptist church in High River. The video is a documentary on the use of electronic devices by young people and some of the problems that are occurring as a result of the use. The video starts at 7:00 PM and is open to everyone who is able to attend. There will be a discussion period afterwards.

The Taber Christian School band will be performing at Brant Christian on Thursday morning in our gym. The performance will get underway at 10:15 and we encourage all parents and friends to come and join us for the performance. That afternoon at 2:15 will be the Brant Christian School talent show contest. There is between 12 - 15 performances scheduled for the show and this is open to everyone who can come out.

The junior high badminton team is off to Vulcan on Friday to compete in their tournament. A schedule has  not been released at this time and will be sent home with the athletes once the schedule has been received.

It was exciting to see the article in last week's local paper about the future move of the school. The article did point out that the motion of transferring the land to the Foothills School Division was only a first reading and there are additional steps to follow. Continue to pray for our society board as they make plans for the future of Brant Christian School.

Starting next Sunday we will be setting up a display table at various churches in Okotoks and High River to promote Brant Christian and to let other Christian families know who we are. I will be at the Evangelical Free Church in Okotoks next Sunday and the Okotoks Alliance Church on May 7. If you attend either of these churches, please drop by the booth and say hello.

We encourage you to continue praying for our school. Whatever changes that may take place we always want the school to be God's school and honouring to him. If you ever have concerns about what is happening at school please call me and I would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Thank you,

Kevin Bailey
