Year-end Wrap-ups

Staffing Announcements
Our music teachers Mrs. Rachel Nauta and Mr.Tim Korthuis will not be back with us next year. We want to thank them so much for all the Spring and Christmas concerts, the wonderful ukulele playing, the beautiful singing of our Brant choir, and how you sought to give our students a love for Jesus through music. We will miss you very much!

June Exam Schedule
We are heading into Provincial Achievement Tests (PAT), Diploma and final exams for our Grade 6 - 12s. I’ve attached a schedule to help our students better prepare for exams. Parents and students are reminded that after exams are completed if students are returning home, they need to communicate with Mrs. Massey. Students who are returning home with a fellow student who don’t carpool regularly, they must have parent permission to do so and this information must be communicated to Mrs. Massey.

Final Exam Schedule June 2024

Library Books
Just a reminder that all books should already be returned to Mrs. McLean in the library.

Golf Tournament Fundraiser
A big thank you to everyone who participated in the annual golf tournament fundraiser. The theme seemed to be “Frigid, but Fun!” . An especially grateful thank you to the organizing committee who worked so hard to put on such a successful event. We’ll release the final fundraising tally next week when all the donations have been received and funds counted.

Hola!
It's a Fiesta Auction for 2024!!! Ole!! Have you ever wondered how much fun it is to plan our biggest event of the year...Si?? You are invited to come find out. Monday, June 17th, 7:00pm @ HR Alliance Church. RSVP to Mrs Niemans 403-601-6915 ¡Muchas gracias!

Painting and Moving Party
If you love to paint or move furniture, and who doesn’t, we are calling on volunteers to come move the library to its new location and to help paint the senior high portable during the week of exams June 17 - 20. All aspiring, apprentice, novice, never-touched-a-brush, never-moved-a-couch and experienced movers/painters are welcome. The fun will take place from 9 - 3 pm.

Business for Charity
Mrs. Bennik’s business class entered into a fierce entrepreneurial competition to see who could raise the most money for charity by selling snacks & beverages. When the dust settled and all the cake pops were eaten and mocktails consumed, the two-part event raised over $750. All the profits will go to International Justice Mission, a Christian organization founded to combat human trafficking and Alberta Children’s Hospital. Well done business class of 2024!

Trip to the Zoo
The K - 4s had a great time at the zoo. Thanks to all the volunteer chaperones who made this day possible.

School Cash Fees
Parents, please check your accounts at www.schoolcashonline.com. If the Technology Fee is still on your child(ren)'s account it means that it has not been paid yet. This fee is a mandatory Palliser School Division fee for gr. 1-12 and therefore must be paid before the end of this school year which is Wednesday, June 26th. Please contact the school office if you have any questions regarding other fees that you may see on your account. Optional fees that do not apply to your child will disappear at the end of the school year. Thank you for making every effort to pay the necessary fees that are on school cash before this time.

Rugby Awards
A great time was had by all at the awards ceremony for the combined Highwood High/Brant Christian rugby team this past Thursday. Brant Christian had a very strong showing with Mikayla Umbach taking the award for top forward for the girls and Bennett Barber winning the same award for the boys. Hudson Brown was the big winner, sharing the Mustang Award that goes to the most valuable player. Congratulations on a great season!

***Registration for 2024-25***
At this point, there is limited space available for the 2024-25 school year. Please encourage any families who are interested in joining BCS to contact the school, to inquire about the availability of space for next year so they can join our waiting list . Sometimes family plans change and parents may leave Brant from now until September 2024. Families leaving allow families on the waiting list to fill a spot that may have opened up.

Feel free to reach out to me should you have any ideas or concerns, or just want to chat.

Mr. Shain Chisholm, Principal
